Rosacea Treatments
(Redness & Vascular)

£100–£400 Ongoing management 1–5 days downtime Prescriber recommended

What is this treatment?

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition characterised by facial redness, visible blood vessels, and sometimes papules and pustules. Aesthetic treatments focus on reducing visible redness and broken capillaries using laser and light-based technologies such as IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), Nd:YAG laser, and vascular laser.

Clinical note

Rosacea management typically requires a combination of medical treatment (topical or oral prescriptions) and aesthetic treatments. Always obtain a proper diagnosis from a GP or dermatologist before pursuing aesthetic treatments. Certain treatments can worsen rosacea if not performed correctly.

What does it treat?

  • Facial redness and flushing
  • Visible broken capillaries (telangiectasia)
  • Rosacea-associated papules
  • Background erythema
  • Rhinophyma (thickened nose skin)
  • Skin sensitivity

How to choose a practitioner

When choosing a practitioner for any aesthetic treatment, always verify their registration with the GMC (doctors), NMC (nurses), or GDC (dentists). For treatments requiring prescription medicines, confirm a valid prescribing arrangement is in place. Check for CQC registration if the clinic offers regulated activities, and look for Save Face accreditation as an additional quality indicator.

Safety reminder

Never choose a practitioner based on price alone. The cheapest option is rarely the safest. Always attend an in-person consultation before committing to any treatment, and be wary of any practitioner who cannot clearly explain the risks, aftercare, and what to do in an emergency.
